We were so close to smoking not being cool anymore. We were so close. Then they flavored it mango and now it’s taboo to criticize it anymore. People don’t ask if they’re allowed to vape indoors, they aren’t considerate of people who may have health problems that are triggered by the chemicals or if it just bothers them, people don’t care that they’re supporting an industry built on corruption and greed, they can’t see it draining their pockets and much less their health. We were so close to smoking not being cool anymore.
PLEASE I went to my friend’s house and I couldn’t SEE across the room it was so full of vape smoke, and this was after they’d left to let us in!! I was like “okay well I’m opening all the windows cos I can’t breathe” n they were like “it’s cold tho🥺” but like bestie. What
one time i opened my bedroom door and immediately took my glasses off and tried to clean them. i thought they’d suddenly steamed up or i’d smeared them somehow…but it was actually that the kitchen was so full of vape fumes that it was like stepping into a foggy morning. my brother in christ, your lungs,

i’m seeing people losing hope for palestine i’m begging you seriously please don’t. the death toll is high but there are still people alive, there are still journalists risking everything to make sure the world sees what is happening. please continue protesting if you have the option to, keep demanding for a ceasefire and keep talking about palestinians both alive and dead. you have to keep going until the very end or else you really did fail them.
Reminder that before all this, the population of Gaza was approximately 2,300,000. The current death toll is around 15,500 - possibly as many as 20,000. That’s horrific, yes. But that means that there are still at least 2,280,000 gazans alive and kicking. There are 2.28 million people who would benefit from a permanent ceasefire; for an end to Israeli hostility; for increased aid and reliable access to food and water. There are still 2.28 million people that Israel has not managed to kill.
So keep making noise. Do whatever you can to help those 2.28 million living people, and to remember and honour the 15,000-20,000 lives that have been taken. Giving up on Gaza helps no one but Israel.

as an Elder Millenial Iranian American, this shit is terrifying because I am seeing the same patterns the US used to justify invading Afghanistan & Iraq and kill millions of people– when that proved to be too difficult to do with ground forces, shifted to indiscriminate aerial bombardments and drone strikes for years

Like, Palestine barely had enough food or water to live before; they didn’t have enough chemicals to make the necessary medicines that they weren’t allowed to import; they entirely lack PPE and have been suffering the ravages of COVID without masks or vaccines

How the fuck is Hamas supposed to get the materiel and personnel to construct WMDs?

People in the past couple weeks are already being lynched throughout the so-called west because they’re Arabic or Muslim & just like in the W years of the war, this will only worsen with more attacks. A white landlord murdered an Arabic child tenant and attempted to kill his mother too. Zionists are showing up at Palestinian solidarity rallies brandishing weapons, promising genocide.

These things we saw too during 2020 when fascists were attacking almost every single protest in every city refusing to be silent and complicit in the police state genociding people of color after witnessing the murder of George Floyd. People died from white terror attacks and then as now and as in the aughts, the police ensured little to nothing happened to the perpetrators as the mainstream news turned away & remained silent, while denouncing desperate efforts to defend protestors from police and assorted “civilian” and paramilitary fascist terror attacks
I will forever condemn everyone who has claimed to have sympathy, empathy, or solidarity for the oppressed & marginalized but refused to support our acts of resistance.
“Failing an open book test” is hella accurate. How do so many people who endured the the “Saddam has WMDs” lie keep falling for this shit?
